The Devil Prefers: Surviving 15 Years of Macau Triad Attacks
Attorney Edward Jamison’s true crime memoir exposes Macau Triad operations from the inside—backed by audio, video and image evidence. This is the first published account of its kind.

A True Crime Memoir Unlike Any Other
In 2009, attorney Edward Jamison became the target of the Macau Triads—one of Asia’s most dangerous organized crime syndicates. For 15 years, he endured systematic attacks, surveillance, and psychological warfare designed to break him.
The Devil Prefers is the first published account that exposes Triad operations from a survivor’s perspective. Unlike fictional crime thrillers or secondhand reporting, every event in this memoir actually happened—and is supported by picture, audio and video evidence available on this website.

About the Author
Edward Jamison is a Duquesne University School of Law graduate and founder of Jamison Law Group. In 2009, his life took an unexpected turn when he became the target of Macau Triad operations while going on a “Guys-Only” trip to Macau—a nightmare that would last 15 years and counting.
Rather than flee or remain silent, Jamison documented everything: audio recordings, video footage, and detailed accounts of each attack and threat that included many attempts on his life in addition to clever blackmail attempts that included not only the Triads, but corrupt local police and even local residents and local businesses that were all too willing to help bring down a foreigner. The Devil Prefers is the result of that documentation—a memoir that reads like a thriller because it’s completely true.
Jamison narrates the audiobook version himself, bringing an authenticity and emotional depth that only the person who lived through these events could provide.
